Work on Boeing taxiway may be stalled again

Nagpur:  Work on Maharashtra Airport Development Company's (MADC) 2km taxiway to connect Boeing's aircraft maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) depot with the airport is likely to be hampered again, as the project affected persons (PAPs) are planning a fresh agitation.
Construction of the taxiway was stopped in 2011 when residents of Shivangaon village led by Baba Dawre had blockaded the work. The stand off ended only last year after a new scheme of compensation was announced.
Both, the MRO and taxiway, are being constructed simultaneously. Aircraft landing at Nagpur airport will not be able to reach the MRO unless the taxiway is built. So, if the work on it is delayed, there are chances that the MRO may be ready but not accessible to the aircraft.
