Chennai: The Airports Authority of India has given approval to AirAsia to use a portion of the old domestic terminal of the Chennai airport as their corporate office.
Airport director H.S. Suresh said, “AirAsia requested space at terminal. After looking into the request, we have now given them ‘in-principle’ approval. They will use about 5,000 sq.m. at the terminal.” The rest of the terminal is likely to be used for warehousing of products by the commercial establishments in the new terminals, he added.
AirAsia officials however, refused to disclose details as to when they would move in and the rent they would pay for the space.
