Kochi: KGS Aranmula International Airport Ltd has dismissed reports suggesting that it violated environmental laws for the new airport project. “While it was alleged that the airport project was in violation of the provisions of the Kerala Conservation of Paddy and Wetlands Act 2008, the Kerala Land Reforms Act 1963, the Environment Protection Act, 1986 and the Land Acquisition Act, the Chennai Bench of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has dismissed the petition filed by the Aranmula Heritage Village Protection Action Council”, said KGS officials in a statement. Therefore the reports that NGT had granted an interim stay on the construction of the Aranmula airport is highly misleading, said KGS officials.
