Chennai: A partial mock exercise of aircraft accident was carried out at Chennai airport to test the efficacy of contingency plan.
With the notification of accident by ATC Tower, all actions as per standard operating procedure were initiated to handle a simulated crisis situation. Since it was a partial exercise, emphasis was given on fire fighting operations, rescue operations and action by medical services during the two-hour exercise.
Doctors and paramedics from nearby hospitals, ambulance services and city fire brigade participated in the exercise.
