Mapusa: 'People for Mopa', an NGO formed in support of the proposed Mopa airport, has decided to launch the signature campaign in support of the airport project. The NGO has also decided to approach all NGOs, social welfare groups, women welfare associations, cultural and sports clubs, self-help groups in Pernem and in North Goa to garner their support and help in the campaign.
Locals and NGOs from Pernem have come under the banner People for Mopa and have stepped up their movement in support of the greenfield Mopa international airport project. Shivprasad Joshi, convenor of the NGO Pernem Navnirman Samiti and a supporter of People for Mopa, informed that a memorandum demanding that the work on the Mopa airport be expedited will be handed over to the chief minister.
