Now, fly Pune to Sydney, Melbourne via Delhi

Pune: National carrier Air India (AI) has announced new flight services to Birmingham in the UK and Sydney and Melbourne in Australia from Delhi, starting from August 1 and 29, respectively. The new services will provide apt connectivity to citizens for Pune, who plan to travel to these international destinations, via Delhi.
The AI has provided the facility of through tagging of check-in baggage at Pune for passengers travelling on AI 852 and connecting onwards to these international destinations. "Custom and Immigration will be done in transit at Delhi," AI Pune station manager Dhairyasheel Vandekar told TOI on Thursday.
"These flights will be operated with our latest Dream-liner aircraft having a seating capacity of 18 business class and 238 economy class seats," he said. "The AI is resuming flights to Australia after a gap of 16 years," he said.
