Peta wants to put up museum for lab animals at AI building

Mumbai: Upset over Air India's U-turn on ferrying animals for lab experiments, animal rights group 'Peta' has thought of a novel way to protest by proposing to rent space in the national carrier's former headquarters here to set up a museum on animal experimentation.
In a recent letter to Air India chairman and managing director Rohit Nandan, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (Peta) has proposed to rent space in the airline's former iconic headquarters in the tony Nariman Point area here and set up a museum of the animals abused and killed in medical experiments there.
"We heard that Air India is having trouble finding lessors for its vacant building in Mumbai. Peta would like to rent a space in your building to set up an animal experimentation museum. Our proposal will benefit your company," the lobby group said in the letter, dated July 18.
