Pune: The airport authorities have been asked by the district administration to explore alternate sites for the proposed international airport, as there could be land acquisition problems at the site near Rajgurunagar that they had surveyed recently for it.
"The state government is mulling the possibility of an alternative location as the site near Rajgurunagar for which we have done the obstruction survey also poses acquisition problems," said P S R K Sudhakar, outgoing director of Airport Authority of India, Pune, while speaking to TOI on Wednesday.
The AAI had submitted a preliminary site identification and obstruction survey report to the state government over two months ago for the proposed international airport near \Rajgurunagar.
