Air India Express cuts down baggage allowance to 20 kgm on flights from Oman

Muscat: Air India Express has reduced the baggage allowance on flights to India from the GCC from 30kg to 20kg per passenger. The decision brings uniformity for passenger baggage allowance for flights into and out of the region, with 20kg permitted for flights from India destined for the Gulf.
Confirming the news, an official from Air India said the new rules will come into effect from August 22 and will be applicable to tickets booked on or after this date.
“This means that if passengers have bought tickets before August 22 they will be allowed 30kg (of baggage). Any additional weight will be charged extra. We have a standard rate at Air India Express and charge RO3 per kilogram.”
