New Delhi: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has put on hold all recruitments in 33 grades in different cadres, after the Vigilance Department detected certain irregularities in the process.
A senior official in the Civil Aviation Ministry said the case has been referred to the CBI for further probe. “Our internal investigation revealed irregularities in at least one discipline, following which the entire process was put on hold. Recently in July, the Vigilance Department forwarded a note to the CBI requesting a thorough probe in the matter. We are awaiting the CBI response,” the official said.
In order to fill over 500 vacancies in 33 grades in different cadres of the AAI, advertisements were issued in March 2012. This included positions at the level of Junior Executive, Manager, Deputy General Manager among others in the PSU, which is responsible for creation and management of civil aviation infrastructure both on the ground and in airspace in the country. Subsequently, exams were conducted in August and November last year.
