Canine trouble for fliers at Birsa Munda airport

Ranchi: After snakes, it's dogs. It seems authorities at BirsaMunda airport, which was built last year, are finding it difficult to maintain it.
Passengers often encounter dogs, and some of them find it really difficult to encounter the four-legged animals, who outnumber humans in the area. However, most of the time there was no security to chase them off.
"I felt scared at the sight of dogs barking at each other. I ran away from the place," said a passenger not wanting to be quoted.
The airport authority say the canine come from the neighbourhood in search of food. But when it rains, many of the dogs enter the terminal building for shade, nonetheless scaring passengers and staff.
Airport staff were also seen complaining about the problem. A CISF staff posted at the entrance point of the premises of the terminal building, said, "A great deal of our time and energy is spent into chasing the dogs. They are all stray ones and live nearby."
