Imphal: The Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Government of India has given its approval for setting up a Cargo Terminal at Imphal Airport so as to accelerate the growth of trade through airways and develop the economy of the State.
According to a reliable source, the Department of Commerce and Industries, Government of Manipur would be taking up the responsibility of constructing the Cargo Terminal for which the Ministry of Commerce and Industries has approved sanctioning of Rs 10 crores.
To start the construction process, the required land has to be registered under the name of the Department.
To be constructed under the name of Export-Import Cargo Terminal, the terminal would have two cold storage rooms as well.
