Guwahati: Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati, along with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, has been jointly adjudged the best airports run by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the period April-June 2013. The award has come from the Airports Council International (ACI), which is a global trade representative of the world's airports.
PSRK Sudhakar, regional executive director of North-Eastern Regional Headquarters of the AAI said it's an honour that the LGBI Airport has been adjudged one of the best airports in the county by the ACI. "Passenger facilities, security arrangements, lighting and delivery of services are some of the key aspects that were considered by the ACI while naming the Guwahati and Ahmedabad airports as the best AAI-run airports in the country," said Sudhakar. He added that both the airports were adjudged the best of 11 AAI-run airports of India, which are thronged by 10 lakh or more passengers annually.
