New Delhi: The crew of non-scheduled airlines and chartered flights from China, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran will require security clearance from Union Ministry of Home Affairs before flying into the Indian space.
The Home Ministry, in an order on Thursday, placed foreign nationals of nine countries in prior reference category (PRC) directing the Indian Missions concerned and posts abroad to forward visa application of crew members for final clearance from the Ministry.
The other countries in the list include Ethopia, Nigeria and Somalia. Even the foreign nationals of Pakistan origin will require the Home Ministry’s clearance for landing at Indian airports.
However, the Home Ministry has authorised Indian Missions to grant business visa for appropriate duration for non-PRC countries. It said that the missions could grant visa preferably within three days of the application.
