Mihan officials hopeful about nod to MRO taxiway gate design

Nagpur: The design for the barricade gates on the taxiway of Boeing - Air India maintenance repair overhaul (MRO) facility in Mihan has been sent to the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). The bureau has constituted a committee which will be examining the plan.
The work for the barricade gates will go ahead only after the committee gives its nod to the design. The committee members might also come to Nagpur for examining the design.
"The committee will definitely approve the design as we have made it keeping their guidelines and requirements in mind. So, we are preparing to initiate the tender process. The committee might suggest some minor changes in the design, but we are sure about it not being rejected. So, we will include a clause for minor changes in the tender," said a Mihan India Limited (MIL) senior official.
The actual work is expected to be complete within three months. The MRO itself is scheduled to be operational by December.
