New Delhi:Rajasthan government today sought an increase in the number of flights to important destinations in the state such as Jaipur and Jodhpur besides making the newly-built Jaisalmer airport operational at the earliest.
Rajasthan's Minister of Energy and Information & Public Relations Jitendra Singh also urged the civil aviation ministry to introduce a flight service for Haj pilgrims from Jodhpur airport.
He was speaking at the first conference of state's Ministers of Civil Aviation here.
Singh said that Rajasthan is an important tourist destination and flights should be increased for Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur routes from Delhi, Ahmedabad and other cities.
"The newly-built airport in the world famous tourist destination of Jaisalmer shall be made operational soon. The progress for Jodhpur, Kota, Kishangarh and Neemrana airports has also been satisfactory," he said in his address while informing that runway facilities are available in all 33 districts of the state.
