Allahabad: Landing of flight number AI 9614 at 9.45 am from Mumbai and takeoff of flight number AI 9613 for Mumbai at 9.15 am from Bamrauli Airport, Monday became a historical day when the holy city got connected to tinsel town directly. The flight being operated by Air India connects country's capital to Mumbai via Allahabad.
Air India station manager of Allahabad Naveen Lal said that the maiden direct flight from Mumbai commenced from Monday when the 70-seater CRJ Bombardier aircraft landed from Mumbai at Bamrauli Airport at its schedule time of 9.45 am. As many as 30 passengers alighted from the maiden flight and 31 passengers boarded to fly to Mumbai, which took off at its scheduled time of 9.15 am. The pilot of flight number AI 9614, which flew to Delhi in its onward journey, was Prasant Sharma while the pilot of flight number AI 9613 was Ajeet Saroha, who flew the aircraft to Mumbai.
