Ahmedabad: The process of privatisation of Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) is inching towards a closure. More than a dozen firms are likely to participate in the pre-bid meet scheduled to be held in New Delhi on October 17. According to sources at SVPIA, the firms who have lined up for the meet include GVK that runs Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, and GMR which operates Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, among others.
On Monday, a team of officials from Toyota Infrastructure India Pvt Ltd paid a visit to the airport. The team took the primary details of the airport as they visited the terminals and other parts of the airport operations.
