Raipur: Following instructions of the election authorities and collector Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi, strict checking of passengers' belongings has been initiated at airport and railway stations. Anyone carrying more Rs 50,000 cash or gold and silver will have to provide evidence and explanation for the same. In case they fail to convince the officials, the income tax department would seize the stuff.
Acting on the orders the enforcement directorate(ED) has introduced an expenditure team to monitor financial and monetary transactions in bank accounts and illegal expenditures by political parties.
The team will be deployed at airport and railway station. It will also seek detailed reports from all the banks about transactions above Rs 10 lakh.
