Kolkata: When a Boeing B-737 800 SpiceJet aircraft that was taxiing for takeoff around 7.15am a fireman at the airport detected smoke from the left engine and alerted the air traffic control tower. The controller contacted the pilot at once. Though pilot took back the aircraft to the parking bay. The Bangalore-bound passengers later boarded another aircraft that took off at 9.45am.
A team of engineers began inspected the plane and they could not find anything amiss in the plane.
