24 Kgm gold found in Jet Airways' plane toilet at Kolkata

New Delhi: A cleaning crew member has found gold in the toilet of a plane belonging to an Indian airline. The 24 gold bars were found stashed in the aircraft's toilet compartment.
The plane belonged to Jet Airways and was being cleaned at the Kolkata airport on Tuesday upon its return from Patna. The plane was apparently heading to Kolkata from Bangkok.
"The cleaning staff of the airport were going though their routine duties and found two bags in the toilets of the plane," director of the airport B.P. Mishra told AFP.
The 24 one-kilogram gold bars "have not been claimed by anyone. No arrest has been made," senior customs official R.S. Meena told AFP. The value of the haul is estimated to be about Rs.70 million.
