Aerocity security plan clear for take-off

New Delhi: Having made their concerns over safety of aeroplane movement on runway due to its proximity to Aerocity hotels clear, Delhi Police is now looking at securing Aerocity complex.
According to sources, local police had sent an 'area security plan' to Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, airport operator ( DIAL) and the civil aviation ministry in June. A senior official said all necessary clearances and approvals for implementation of this plan have been obtained.
The proposal seeks to build a strong perimeter around the 43-acre complex which will eventually house 12 functioning hotels. There are recommendations to build an eight-metre high wall around, security at four entry and exit points of the complex, a police booth inside the complex and CCTV coverage of the entire area.
As of now, the perimeter of Aerocity is loosely defined by a blue fence broken at several places with easy entry for anyone. There is little security at the entry and exit points and outside the hotels almost no active CCTV camera has been installed.
