Nagpur: Replies to Right to Information (RTI) queries regarding Nagpur's Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport have revealed that the revenue that seemed to have taken a hit in 2012-13 is on its way to recovery. It also showed the importance of perfect wording of questions and knowledge of nitty-gritty while filing for an RTI if one wishes to wriggle out the exact information desired.
RTI activist Abhay Kolarkar's queries pertaining to the airport between 2009 and 2013 revealed that while the revenue from various avenues had increased when financial years 2010-11 and 2011-12 were compared, the figures of 2012-13 showed a decline. Revenue from landing charges, passenger service facilities and from tender documents fell in this year. But that from other avenues like parking and advertising board have increased.
