Pune: The Pune airport will have eight new hangars in the next two months. This will create extra parking space for small private aircraft having seating capacity of less than 100, especially those coming in at night.
Pune Airport director Manoj Gangal said, “The construction of the hangars will be completed in two to three months. The parking will be available for scheduled commercial flights and non-scheduled private flights. The work has reached its final stage and we are positive about the completion date. One hangar will be kept reserved for emergency purposes.”
Experts say the aircraft management will improve and there will be more international flights after the Modernisation of Air Field Infrastructure (MAFI) project is implemented.
