Airport to get 30 more CISF men

Bhubaneswar: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has sanctioned the post of 30 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel to be deployed at the international terminal of the Biju Patnaik airport here.
The airports authority earlier sought more personnel before the city airport was accorded international status. "At present, there are 221 CISF personnel against the sanctioned strength of 230. However, we need 300 CISF men to man the domestic and international terminals," said airport director Sharad Kumar.
AAI here proposed to enhance the staff strength in five departments to effectively man the security and movements of international flights. The air traffic control (ATC), communication and navigational surveillance (CNS), terminal management and fire services also require additional staff. "Five more staffs have joined the ATC recently. Earlier, there were 15 personnel manning the ATC in three shifts," the director said. The CNS and fire services are yet to have more staff.
