AP CM lays foundation for Aerospace Park

Hyderabad: An Aerospace Park with investment to the tune of Rs 1,500 crore and potential employment to about 30,000 people was formally kick-started with the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy laying the foundation stone.
Situated about 15 km from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, the park will have 26 small and medium enterprises setting up units. They will manufacture a range of components and systems for the strategic sectors, especially defence and space.
Speaking at the function, Kiran Kumar said it was heartening to note that companies from the State were contributing precision components and high quality products to the aerospace and satellite programmes. Even, in the Mars Orbiter, which is in countdown mode to be launched on Tuesday, there is contribution. He said the initiative promoted by SAMUHA Engineering Industries will provide direct and indirect employment to around 30,000 people.
