Cidco's education boost for kids of airport PAP

Navi Mumbai: People affected by the Navi Mumbai airport project will not have to worry about the higher education expenses of their kids.
The City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) has come up with a plan where it will take care of medical, engineering and other higher and technical education or skilled job training for children of families, who have to give up their land for the project.
"Project affected families get land or money as compensation. Studies revealed that in many cases the project affected families have ignored the importance of education for their kids and have splurged money on other non-important matters. To ensure that kids from such families do not lag behind, Cidco has decided to take care of their higher education or train them in skilled courses," V Radha, joint managing director of Cidco, told TOI.
"The aim is not just to provide education for youth, but also ensure that they get jobs or are capable of self-employment," she added.
