Kanpur: Reacting to Narendra Modi's statement in Bahraich that Congress was fielding Indian Mujahideen against him, Union minister Rajiv Shukla reminded the BJP that it was not Congress but the BJP that compromised with the terrorists in 1999's Kandhar plane hijack.
"BJP compromised with dreaded terrorists and not the Congress after the hijack of Indian Airlines IC-814 flight to Kandahar. BJP should be answerable to its cowardly act and not Congress," said Shukla.
Shukla further said that his party was one of the worst sufferers and had lost two big leaders, including Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, to terrorism. But BJP bowed before them, he added.
