Mumbai resident held with gold worth Rs 9 lakh at Ahmedabad airport

Ahmedabad: The customs department on Friday night held a 50-year-old man for smuggling gold worth Rs 9 lakh at Sardar Vallabhbhai International Airport.
Suresh Khira of Mumbai was caught carrying 300gm of gold in his belt's buckle. This is the first such incident month and fourth in the past two months.
Khira arrived from Dubai in Spicejet flight SG-016 at 11.30 pm on Friday night. When Khira proceeded to clear the customs check for the LED TV he brought from Dubai, a bill of 300gm fell down from the luggage after which the officials questioned him. On being questioned, he told the officials that the gold was hidden in his belt buckle which was later recovered.
