Omani held at Mumbai airport to be released

Ibrahim al Hadrami, who was arrested at Mumbai Airport after a pistol was found in his suitcase, will be released tomorrow, according to a reliable source. The incident took place when the guilty flew to Hyderabad last Saturday with his son, Ismail al Hadrami, to get a medical treatment but due to some reasons the plane landed at Mumbai Airport where Ibrahim was arrested for keeping a pistol in his suitcase. A staff member at Omani Consulate in India, Mubarak al Hanae, said: “We received a notification stating that an Omani citizen has been arrested for keeping a pistol in his suitcase. The embassy engaged a lawyer to pursue the case.” “The court last Thursday found Ibrahim guilty as he was travelling on business visa and not medical but granted him bail on RO 200. Currently, he is undergoing treatment and there are no worries regarding his condition. Hopefully, Ibrahim will be released tomorrow and he will come back home soon,” he added.
