Varanasi: The rumour of terror threat to Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Babatpur gripped the city on Monday.
The security in-charge of the airport denied any such threat. The police were also unaware about it.
The security in-charge of airport HK Brahma had recently received a threat letter from some terrorist outfit.
Following it, the security arrangements have been enhanced in and around the airport.
When contacted, Brahma denied any threat perception. But, he admitted that he had received a letter on December 19. Refusing to reveal the content of letter, he said: "There is nothing alarming in the letter. It may be the act of mischievous element."
