Mumbai: The Kherwadi police have arrested an employee of a Bandra courier company for stealing 2.5kg gold and are looking for his associate.
On January 17, Dilip Das and his associate, who work at New Bharat Air Company, collected the gold consignment from the airport, and planned to steal it. The associate left with the gold consignment in a taxi and Das went to the police station and filed a complaint claiming that he was robbed by fake policemen who had intercepted his vehicle at Kherwadi junction.
The two accused, who work with New Bharat Air Company, had planned to steal the gold consignment and file false complaint.
The accused, Dilip Das, and another employee had filed a false complaint with the police claiming that fake cops had stolen the gold, which they were transporting from the airport to their Bandra office on Friday night. Das broke down during questioning and was arrested. The police are looking for his associate.
