2kg gold seized from 6 flyers

Mumbai:  Mumbai airport Customs officials on Wednesday intercepted 2 kg gold worth Rs 52 lakh in six smuggling cases.
In the first case, a flyer, Mansoor Ali B M Kunhi, had concealed 332gm jewellery in fluorescent tubes. In another case, one Mohammed Hanif Habib Shah had concealed a gold bar worth Rs 4.4 lakh in the battery cavity of a cellphone. In the third case, a 116 gm gold bar worth Rs 2.9 lakh was found in the pocket of a passenger, Mohammed Iqbal. Another passenger, Ismail Deshmukh, had hid a 500 gm gold bar in his pant pocket. One Abdul Hameed Jahir Hussain had concealed six gold bars, weighing 600 gm and worth Rs 15 lakh in his rectum. A flyer, Mohammed Aliyar Jinna, had concealed four gold bars, 100 gm each and worth a total of Rs 10 lakh in his footwear.
