Bravery award for late IAF pilot from Madurai

Madurai:  Indian Air Force pilot K Praveen, who died in rescue operations during the flash floods in Uttarakhand last year, is one of the Shaurya Chakra awardees this year.
Praveen is the 32nd person to receive the Shaurya Chakra from the state.
Praveen's mother Manjula welcomed the award, though she is yet to recover from her son's death. "I am yet to come to terms with Praveen's death. I wish god could have taken my life instead. However, I continue to live as if my son is living with me," said the 53-year-old.
As a mark of respect to the late IAF pilot, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Madurai invited Manjula to hoist the national flag at the Republic Day celebration on Saturday at party's office.
