Cold wave intensifies, fog disrupts flights

Jaipur: Fog and mist continued to play spoilsport to air, road and rail traffic across the state for the second consecutive day on Sunday. The mercury took a further dip on Sunday as Mount Abu in hills and Sriganganagar in plains remained coldest in the state with minimum temperatures of 0.4°C and 5.8°C.
Attributing the presence of the fog and mist to the active western disturbances, the Met office said mercury will further take a dip across the state. Cold wave conditions will continue in the state for the next couple of days.
Air passengers and people who had gone to receive their relatives were a troubled lot as at least six early morning flights landed late at the Jaipur airport. The Sharjah to Jaipur flight was again diverted to Delhi due to poor visibility. Since the same flight has to take off to Sharjah after reaching Jaipur, it was very late and created problems for more than 100 passengers waiting for departure after the security check.
