Fog hits air traffic, not to vanish today

Chandigarh:  The curtain of fog that has fallen across the city would not be lifted on the weekend even as chances were bright of the city receiving rainfall on January 18 and 19, the meteorological department has forecast. On Friday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 17.3 degrees celsius. The minimum settled at 8.6 degrees celsius, 3 degrees below normal.
Fog played havoc with the air traffic on Friday, with 12 flights from the city cancelled. Out of these, 10 were scheduled to fly to Delhi (6 of Jet Konnect, 3 of Jet Airways and one of Air India). Two Flights going to Mumbai were cancelled, with one of Jet Airways and the second of Jet Konnect.
Twelve flights coming to the city from Delhi were also cancelled. six flights were of Jet Konnect, three of Jet Airways, 2 of Spice Jet and one of Air India.
