IAF partly grants Air India's request for morning slot

Pune: The Indian Air Force (IAF), which controls the Lohegaon air field here, has partly granted Air India's (AI) request by allowing operation of its Pune-Delhi flight on Saturdays and Sundays between 8 am and 8.40 am. The revamp of the airport, under the Modernization of Air Field Infrastructure (MAFI) project, begins today and will continue for the next three months during which the restrictions on civilian flights will apply.
On four of the remaining five days in the week, the flight (AI-851/852) will operate between 10.40 am and 11.10 am. The flight does not operate on Fridays.
Dhairyashil Vandekar, AI's Pune station manager, told TOI, "We are still pursuing with the IAF headquarters the issue of morning slot for the four week days, considering that the revised timing is affecting a large section of our travelers who have already booked their tickets. Particularly those who are bound for onward international journey from Delhi for which the bookings were made three to four months in advance."
