Mumbai: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that all the pending issues related to the Navi Mumbai International Airport had been sorted out, and the work was on. "All pending issues with regard to the Navi Mumbai airport have now been resolved and the Maharashtra government, in collaboration with the Central government, is now moving ahead on the work," Singh, who inaugurated Mumbai airport's terminal T2, said.
The Navi Mumbai airport, conceived 27 years ago, has been held up due to issues relating to land acquisition and environment clearances. After several months of negotiations, the project-affected persons (PAPs) have agreed to the Maharashtra government's offer of 22.5 per cent developed land for every hectare of land acquired.
