Officers association to meet aviation ministry

Srinagar: With speculation rife about privatization plans of Centaur hotel, the Centaur Officers Association has decided to register a protest before the Civil Aviation Ministry Delhi against any move to privatise the five star hotel.
Pertinently, the employees union of Centaur hotel, led by its president Javid Ahmad Pandit has already met Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh in Delhi to put forth their demands.
Both employees and the officers working in the hotel oppose any decision aimed at privatizing the hotel.
“We want to ensure that our service rights are protected and for that we are going to explore all available options. We intend to meet the civil aviation minister, secretary, and for that matter, the finance minister to put forth our viewpoint,” said Nazir Ahmad Dar, general secretary Centaur Officer Welfare Association (COWA).
A reported proposal to privatise the hotel has already generated resentment among the Centaur employees here who pledge that "any such move shall attract strong resentment and antipathy" from them.
