Kannur: Elaborate arrangements are being made at the Kannur International Airport site, near Mattannur, for a public function in which Defence Minister A.K. Antony will inaugurate the airport construction work on February 2 at 3 p.m.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will preside and a host of Ministers, including Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation K.C. Venugopal, Union Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandran, State Ministers P.K. Kunhalikkutty, K.M. Mani, K.C. Joseph and K.P. Mohanan will be present.
Officials of Kannur International Airport Ltd. (KIA) said that a helipad had been arranged at the airport project site for the landing of a chopper carrying the Defence Minister and some other dignitaries.
