Mumbai: Whether or not all will go well inside the swanky new international Terminal 2 of the Mumbai airport on its first day of functioning on Wednesday remains to be seen. But what is known is that passengers, who rely on taxi and autorickshaw services, are likely face difficulty commuting to and from the airport.
Taxi union leader A L Quadros, who runs the biggest taxi union in the city and operates nearly 2,000 black-and-yellows at the airport, has threatened a strike at the T2 on Wednesday. While the new terminal is situated on the first floor, the taxi bay continues to exist on the ground floor.
"We have been denied a proper taxi bay at the new terminal. I have been pursuing the matter with the Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd authorities, but in vain," Quadros told TOI on Tuesday.
