Raipur: Chhattisgarh government has been spending a whopping Rs 5.75 lakhs per day or Rs 21 crores a year to keep its VVIP's flying.
Chief minister, Dr Raman Singh, disclosed this figure in response to question raised by Congress legislator, Satyanarain Sharma, in the assembly on Monday.
The chief minister disclosed that while Rs 9.41 crore had been spent on the maintenance of the two state owned aircraft, another Rs 11.56 crores were spent on hiring private planes and choppers. The state has a B 200 aircraft and Augusta chopper.
