DGCA grounds United Airlines plane, US aviation authority sees red

Mumbai: A United Airlines aircraft has been grounded in Mumbai since Thursday evening with DGCA sources claiming that the aircraft is damaged, but there is a speculation that this could be the result of a power struggle ever since the US downgraded India's civil aviation security standards.
The aircraft belonging to American carrier United Airlines has been grounded at the Mumbai International Airport for over 48 hours signalling a major standoff between the DGCA and the US Federal Aviation Authority.
However, the DGCA has maintained that it grounded the aircraft because the right engine cowl was missing even as the United Airlines says the cowl is present and only has minor damages.
Meanwhile, an eight member team is coming to Mumbai from US to repair the aircraft.
