District administration issues notice to skydiving association

Salem:  In the wake of the tragic death of V Ramya on Thursday while skydiving, the Salem district administration issued a notice to Bangalore-based Indian Skydiving and Parachute Association (ISPA) seeking explanation why it conducted the adventure sport without taking necessary precautionary measures.
District revenue officer S Selvaraj, who issued the notice on Friday, said the notice was served to Ankita Ashokkumar Singh, 28, executive secretary, ISPA. "The notice was issued to Ankita, who is in Salem Central Prison (women's wing), on Saturday morning. She must reply at the earliest," Selvaraj told STOI.
The ISPA had organized skydiving at Salem Airport between January 24 and February 2 after getting clearance from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd which owns the Cessna aircraft, and the Salem district administration.
