Srinagar: In a bid to ensure hassle-free air travel for passengers at Srinagar international Airport, the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Shailendra Kumar Wednesday visited the airport to review the arrangements, an official handout said.
Later, a meeting of concerned officers was convened at Airport which was attended by AOC, Air Force, IGP, Kashmir, Director Airport Authority of India, District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, representatives of SMC Municipal Committee, Budgam Municipal and officers of other line departments.
“It was decided in the meeting that five X-Ray machines would be installed at drop gate for scrutiny of passenger baggage for the convenience of passengers.
“It was also decided that transportation facility for passengers from drop gate to terminal would be arranged by Director Airport Authority of India and concerned airlines,” the official handout added.
The Divisional Commissioner asked the concerned to formulate a detailed project report to augment the power and water supply at Airport. Meanwhile the authorities were asked to arrange four lakh gallons of water as a short term measure.
