The DFS Group and Flemingo International partnership, which operates at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport has in a surprise move extended its duty-free contract to the new terminal two, which opened today, operator GVK Mumbai International Airport confirmed to DFNI.
The contract was originally won by an Aer Rianta International and Buddy Retail joint venture in January 2013 but will now be operated by DFS/Flemingo.
The 10-year and seven month duty-free contract covers 50, 850 sq ft (4,724sq m) of retail space nd includes core categories such as liquor, tobacco, perfumes, confectionery and electronics. The 12,690sq ft (1,178sq m) fashion, luxury and lifestyle concession in the new T2 will be operated by The Nuance Group.
