Flyers upset as officials left them in the lurch at T2

Mumbai:  Wednesday night saw hundreds of weary incoming passengers driven to despair at T2. "There were hordes of flyers from different airlines, all shouting. Most were peeved as there was no airline or airport official to give information on when their bags would arrive. At one point, when passengers tried to damage monitors, CISF personnel were called in," a source said.
Eyewitnesses said some people even manhandled Jet Airways officials.
"Our flight landed at 7.30pm, but by the time our four check-in bags and two packets of zamzam (holy water) arrived, it was 11.30pm," said Sameera Rakhangi, a passenger of Saudia Airlines Jeddah-Mumbai flight SV 772. "Our flight had four hours flying time and then four hours waiting time for the bags to arrive," said her husband, Abdul Aziz Rakhangi, a Worli businessman.
The 200-odd passengers, largely Umrah pilgrims, were a patient lot. "For an hour not a single bag arrived," said Sameera.
