Mangalore: Thick fog around the coastal region of the twin districts, especially around the Mangalore International Airport area forced delay in landing and take-off of several domestic and international flights on Saturday February 8.
Dubai-Mangalore Jet Airways flight scheduled to land at Mangalore was delayed by at least four hours. According to the airport sources, the flight landed at around 9.50 am on Saturday.
Domestic Jet Airways flight from Mumbai landed after an hour's delay in the noon. Another Jet flight from Bangalore which was scheduled to land at 8.15 am was delayed, and later cancelled.
Thick fog also affected road traffic, with several vehicles lined up in a gridlock, moving at a snail's pace with headlights on even at around 9 in the morning.
