Jaipur: Eight gold biscuits of 108 gram each were seized from two passengers in Jaipur airport on Saturday. The two passengers -Dhanlal of Chomu and Tarachand of Kuchaman City -- holding white passport arrived from Muscat through Oman Airlines on Saturday.
The seizure came a day after the department seized 60 gm gold wrapped in cloth iron. The department received specific inputs from the intelligence that a man holding white passport is smuggling undeclared gold items.
"The gold was detected in a luggage but we found in locks wrapped by a surgical tape. We had no inputs on the second accused but he came under our scanner after we found him holding a white passport," said Honhar Singh, deputy commissioner of customs. The total weight of gold is 932 gram. The estimated value of the seized gold is nearly 27 lakh.
