Trichy: A 50-year-old woman was caught by the immigration authorities at the Trichy airport on Saturday for carrying a fake passport.
Airport police who arrested the woman, one G Savitri, found that she had travelled to Kuala Lumpur four years ago to work as a maid for a period of four years. Savitri travelled on a passport bearing her sister's name, Vasantha, and her address as those above 40 years are not recruited as maids in Malaysia. Though, she came to the country twice after that, she managed to hoodwink the airport authorities. However, her luck ran out on Saturday when she returned to the country.
On Saturday, Savitri arrived at the Trichy airport in an AirIndia Express flight. She gave incoherent replies during questioning by the immigration authorities. Soon, she confessed that she has been travelling on fake identity.
